Commenius Multilateral School Partnership 2006 – 9 – Section C

1. Partnership Activities that have taken place so far in 2006-7

We have managed to keep to the timetable as set out in our application for 2006 - 7 .

There are 8 schools in our project – Austria, Czeck Republic, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Wales

September 2006 –Pupils in  all our schools designed logos for our project and also suggested names for our Train of Friendship. Also pupils wrote tickets for boarding the train which included information about themselves, their families and their interests.

October/November 2006 – First project meeting at Pecky, near Prague in the Czeck Republic. All schools were represented and train tickets were exchanged. Voting took place for our logo design ( the logo from Slovenia was chosen ) and the name of our train of Friendship was chosen – ToF  ( submitted by Austria ) The next steps of our project were discussed and agreed. Adrianna from Italy kindly agreed to take  charge of our website

 www.comenius-tof.eu

December 2006 – Schools exchanged information about Christmas customs and sent gifts and cards.

January – March 2007 – Pupils in all the schools create ‘Homeland’ games to teach children in other schools about the different countries involved in our project.  Our aim is to create games at three different levels to match the ages of pupils in our schools:-

·        pupils aged 4 – 7/8  ( 4 schools – Austria, Finland, Italy, Wales )

·        pupils aged 7/8 – 11/12 ( 8 countries )

·        pupils above 12 years of age ( 4 countries – Czeck Rep, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia )

2. Results of Partnerships so far

See above. Project leaders and other members of staff have now become friends and this makes it easier for us to continue with our project. The visit to the Czeck Republic was interesting and we were made welcome by the Head teacher , staff and pupils of our host school and town dignitaries. We also met parents at an evening concert by the school pupils We have established our own project logo and  website.

3. Changes from the original partnership

       None

4. Activities for the remaining part of 2006-7

At the end of April we will have another project meeting, this time in Denmark. At this meeting we will exchange our ‘Homeland’ games and also create a quiz to give to pupils before and after they have played the ‘Homeland” games. Using     this quiz will enable us to find out how much our pupils have learned about the other countries through playing the games.

5. Evaluation of progress

At the end of the school year we will seek the views of our pupils and members of staff in school to evaluate the impact of the project so far. We will complete our first year evaluation form for our National Agencies

6. Dissemination and use of results

We will inform our parents through newsletters and school websites and School Governors of the results of our work. We will inform Authority officers connected to our schools.
